I purchased a vintage bass amplifier from a private individual over the internet. I live half way across the country from the seller and I needed some way to pack it and ship it to me. The speaker cabinet alone weighs well over 100 lbs. and the power head weighed 30lbs., so I knew it would take some specialized packing and shipping to get it to me safely. After contacting my local UPS store to find out if UPS could handle my needs, I did a search on www.ups.com for the nearest UPS store to the seller. As luck would have it, I called you Dale. When I explained my needs, Dale informed me that he has a customer that ships similar items all over and they always arrive in good order. That was very comforting and what I wanted to hear. Also, the seller did not want to pack the equipment. He just wanted to drop it off at your store, which is what he did.
Please allow me to describe the packaging when it arrived. First of all, the exterior of the package was covered with stickers to alert the movers that the box was not to be put on its side and it was to remain upright. Now, to describe all that went into the packaging will take a few lines to describe, because the attention to detail was incredible. The large bass amp speaker cabinet is 39”x25”x9” and weighs over 100 lbs. The castors on the bottom of the cabinet were removed and packaged separately. Then, the front and back of the cabinet was protected with cardboard taped in place. Then, the entire amp was wrapped in large bubble bubble wrap. Then, it was placed in a large bag with Styrofoam peanuts on the bottom. The bag was then filled with Styrofoam peanuts, including on top of the amp and that bag was sealed tight with tape. Now it was time to place the package inside the cardboard box. Here is where the detail got pushed over the top!!! All the open cavities around the wrapped up amp were filled in with spray foam. Lastly, the box was taped up tightly.
In conclusion, I received a large bulky heavy breakable item shipped halfway across the United States from New York to Kansas in perfect shape.
