At The UPS Store, we are always looking for new ways to "Go Green".We encourage our customers to help protect the environment by bringing clean packing materials of all kinds for recycling and reuse. Recycling and reusing appropriate materials, not only do we help to preserve the environment, but it also aids us in keeping our costs down for our customers. According to the Plastic Loose Fill Council, more that 30% of plastic loose-fill is used again. For business centers like The UPS Store, that reuse rate can be as high as 50% or more. To help further reduceour carbon footprint, The UPS Store offers air-filled film pillows, and alternative, protective packaging material that can be reused or recycled with plastic bag waste. In addition to packaging materials, The UPS Store can also help you to recycle ink and toner cartridges. If your cartridges come with shipping labels for recycling, simply drop off the labeled boxes at our stores. We can also recycle a variety of cartridges that do not come with shipping labels.
UPS also offers options to reduce your carbon footprint by offering the Carbon Neutral shipping option. For a minimal fee, you can choose the Carbon Neutral shipping option and UPS will put that money towards purchasing carbon offsets. The cost for this option ranges from 5¢ to 75¢ per package depending on the service level.
