On Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 9 am to 1 pm, The UPS Store® in North Attleboro hosted Summer Literacy Day 2011 in the Shaw’s Triboro Plaza. At that time, over 1,000 books were presented to the Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children. In addition to book donations, many items were collected for the Happy Birthday Backpack Program that the Council for Children runs.
From July 1 to August 13, The UPS Store® located at 11 Robert Toner Blvd (Shaw’s-Triboro Plaza) North Attleboro hosted a book drive to collect new children’s books to benefit local children in need. The book drive was part of the Toys for Tots Literacy Program, an initiative that seeks to place new books directly into the hands of less fortunate children. The UPS Store® donated all books collected during the drive to the Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children on August 13 for distribution. Through the Toys for Tots Literacy Program, every donation helps the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation buy a book for a deserving child.
In recognition for their efforts, The UPS Store in North Attleboro was presented with an official State Senate Citation by State Senator Richard J. Ross, who was also in attendance.
