In the Community
The one event that has been happening for 90 plus years now is the Inter-Tribal Ceremonial which happens every year the first two weeks of August. The Ceremonial involves the entire community from downtown Gallup for the parades to Red Rock Park for the Art Exhibit halls and the weekend dance performances.
Check out the Red Rock Balloon Rally, the Gallup Lions Club Rodeo, WIld Thing Bull Riding, and the Squash Blossom Classic Bicycle Race to name just a few.
The place to contact for great insider information on the area for travelers and for the latest information on what's new for the locals, contact Bill Lee or any of the helpful staff at the Gallup McKinley County Chamber of Commerce at 505-722-2228 or the website.

November 2011
We have partnered with The Community Pantry in helping to provide basic food necessities to, unfortunately, a growing number of local families. We are a drop off point for cardboard, which the Pantry collects weekly, and recycles to fund food purchases. During the month of November, we will also be donating 50 cents for each UPS package shipped, plus soliciting our customers to match our 50 cents per package or to make an independent contribution of their own. We will present the entire total to the Community Pantry on December 1st on behalf of The UPS Store and our customers.
December 2011
On December 1st we donated $1,000.00 to the Community Pantry! We would like to thank all of our customers who shipped UPS and made additional donations during the month of November. We were a little shy on our goal, so we committed the difference to reach our $1,000.00 goal! Thanks again!
This month we are raising funds for the Toys for Tots literacy program. Each dollar raised goes to buy books for our children locally! Please find it in your heart to donate a couple of dollars to this very worthy cause. The books are purchased at a very competitive price and can be donated to any school or library. We hope to bring several hundred books into our community in the very near future!
