From November 15 through December 31, 2009, The UPS Store^® located at 23110 State Road 54 @ Collier Pkwy will host a book drive to collect new children’s books to benefit local children in need. The book drive is part of the Toys for Tots Literacy Program, an initiative that seeks to place new books directly into the hands of less fortunate children.

While new children’s books for all ages are needed, The UPS Store will also offer customers the opportunity make a cash donation, which will be used to purchase additional books. Through the Toys for Tots Literacy Program, every $1 donation helps the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation buy a book for a deserving child.

“According to the ‘Handbook of Early Literacy Research,’ in low-income neighborhoods, the ratio of books per child is one age-appropriate book for every 300 children,” states The UPS Store franchisee Mysels. “With this book drive, we will be able to provide Lutz/Land O’Lakes area children with the gift of a book that can help them succeed now and in the future.”

“We hope residents will help support this program,” adds Mysels.  “Just one dollar buys a book and can help make a difference in the life of a child living in our community.”

The UPS Store^® located in the Willow Bend Towne Centre at the corner of State Road 54 @ Collier Parkway is helping to ease travelers’ burdens by shipping their luggage ahead. 

The primary motivation is saving time and money. Unfortunately, traveling by air is no longer a simple process. In today’s world, people are looking for cost-effective ways to minimize the hassle.

We’re seeing an increasing demand for our luggage shipping services. There’s also been increased interest in our packing services for items such as skis, golf clubs and fishing poles—items travelers would prefer to have waiting at their destination rather than lugging them around an airport.
