In 2009 we teamed up with The UPS Store #5417 in Grass Valley to sponsor The 49th annual Nevada City Bicycle Classic Race. The event is held on Father's Day weekend and featured Cancer Survivor & 7 time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong (Team Livestrong - Team Radio Shack & 1st place finisher). Also racing were: Levi Leipheimer (Team Radio Shack & 3rd place finisher ), Chris Horner (Team Radio Shack) & Ben Jacques-Mayne (Bissel Pro Cycling Team and 2nd place finisher). The race drew over 35,000 fans and was the best attended race in it's history. For the past 2 years, The UPS Stores in the CA 150 region have been the presenting sponsor for the Nevada City Bicycle Classic . Ian Boswell of Bend, OR & (Bissell Pro Cycling Team) took first place followed by teammate Paul Mach of Davis, CA. Boswell, riding for Team Livestrong, duplicated his 2010 performance in 2011 by winning back to back titles.
In 2010/11, The UPS Stores of Northern California - CA 150, sponsored the 6th annual Mustard Seed Spin - Kids ride for kids bicycle ride at William B. Pond Recreation Area. This ride benefits the Mustard Seed School which provides a safe, nurturing learning environment for homeless school age children. The UPS Store had a booth at the Start/Finish line. We collected books and donations for the Toys for Tots Literacy Program which benefits programs such as the Mustard Seed School. We had Staff Sargeant Dewitt from the local US Marine detatchment along with 2 Marines to represent the program.
