This new initiative will offer our nation’s most economically disadvantaged children the ability to compete academically and to succeed in life by providing them direct access to books and educational resources that will enhance their ability to read and to communicate effectively.
Throughout March, The Victor UPS Store will be selling $1 donation cards, and for every dollar donated, a book will be placed into the hands of a deserving child in the area courtesy of Scholastic, Inc. The store will continue additional fund-raising activities throughout the year. Between March 3rd and April 30th, The Victor UPS Store will host a book drive to collect new, age-appropriate books, providing yet another opportunity for the community to help local children in need. For every book brought to the store during these dates, the person making the donation will receive a voucher for a free ticket to select remaining Rochester American hockey games (while supplies last).
“According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 12.8 million children live in poverty. And there is
a need in or near every community,” said The Victor UPS Store franchisee, Jeff Gensiejewski. ”The literacy program is the perfect way to help provide these children with the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty.”

Alternatives Take the “Lug” Out of Luggage; Save Time, Money
Victor, NY, November 8, 2010 – The UPS Store ® located at Cobblestone Court Plaza in Victor, NY can ease air travelers’ burdens with three luggage shipping alternatives, including a new luggage box that takes the place of a suitcase, to help reduce hassles of long lines, security searches and increasing baggage fees.
“Not having to carry a suitcase while traveling is a great convenience. Even better is luggage awaiting your arrival at a destination or hotel,” said Jeff Gensiejewski, The UPS Store owner. “You can ship your luggage as is; place it in a box for shipment, or purchase a luggage box, eliminating the need for a suitcase altogether.”
When shipped UPS Ground service, the luggage box is competitively priced with the airlines’ baggage fees, especially when compared to the major airlines, many of which are charging well over $100 for comparable baggage.
The luggage box comes in two sizes, large and small; has a sturdy handle for easy carrying, and is made of recyclable corrugate. Because it weighs less than an empty suitcase, packing directly into the box can help lower shipping costs. Travelers also can include packaging tape and a return UPS shipping label for use when returning home.
“Luggage shipping picked up when the airlines began increasing fees for checked bags and carry-ons,” Gensiejewski added, “each month we ship more luggage and golf bags than the month before. In 2004, when I purchased the store, I rarely shipped luggage, now it is an everyday occurrence.”

Normally UPS is completed doing pick-ups at businesses in the Victor and surrounding area by 6 pm. However, now that The Victor UPS Store has this late pick-up, this will allow both businesses and residents to utilize UPS shipping up until the store closes at 7:00 pm. Area businesses will now have an added opportunity to meet the increasing demands of customers throughout the world
